Melissa Jesski PT, DPT
Melissa Jesski PT, DPT is a licensed Physical Therapist who specializes in pelvic health and orthopedics.
Melissa Jesski received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Saint Louis University in Missouri. She is originally from the northwest side of Chicago but has called New York home for over 10 years.
Melissa has worked in a variety of outpatient orthopedic settings including sports rehab and aquatic physical therapy. After several years in the field, Melissa developed a strong interest in women’s health and the specialty of pelvic floor physical therapy. She began her coursework through the American Physical Therapy Association in 2016.
Melissa is passionate about raising awareness on pelvic floor dysfunction and helping women of all ages have pain-free sex, resolve urinary incontinence, and reach their activity goals. Melissa is skilled in postural correction, post-surgical rehabilitation, gait and running mechanics, balance and proprioceptive training, as well as pregnancy and postpartum. She finds a lot of overlap in treating orthopedic conditions and pelvic floor dysfunction.
Melissa strongly emphasizes core stability and injury prevention in her treatment programs. She incorporates elements of pilates and yoga into her practice. Melissa is a huge proponent of patient and family education. She believes each patient should have an active role in his or her care and each treatment plan should be specifically tailored to the individual.
Melissa lives in Brooklyn and is frequently found walking or running in Prospect Park. She has a strong love for food and adventurous travel. On the weekends you will find her biking around the city, attending cultural events or attempting to surf in Rockaway.
